Selling motor oil on social media is no easy task.
But when we discovered that Shell Helix Ultra is made for the most extreme conditions in an engine, we thought the kind of crazy, backyard science experiments that are popular on YouTube were a good start.
Our idea: to recreate the extreme conditions the oil faces in your engine, and pit everyday objects against them.
Working with UNIT 9 and director Simon Neal, we converted a North London warehouse into a laboratory, and then the craziness began.
SIDE NOTE: Shell is very safety-conscious brand, so blasting the living hell out of a kettle with a flamethrower was ... well, we thought they were going to kill it.
